JFCS offers a range of support for parents who would like to achieve a more fulfilling, happy family life.
JFCS offers a 7-session Parenting Course that meets court-mandated requirements. Classes are currently held online due to the coronavirus pandemic and like all of our programs and services, are open to everyone, without regard for religion, race, socioeconomic status, or national origin. The classes are taught by our clinical team at JFCS.
The cost is $80 for the 7 sessions for an individual, and $120 for a couple. Financial aid may be available. For more information on the dates of our next session, call (562) 427-7916.
In our counseling program, we work with families from all paths–traditional families, blended families, same-sex families, co-parenting as a result of separation/divorce, and grandparents raising grandchildren, to name a few. Every life situation is different, and JFCS designs a counseling plan that will produce the best outcomes for each family member.
JFCS offers a sliding fee scale based on your ability to pay. We accept private-pay clients, Medi-Cal through Health Net and some PPO insurance plans. We have appointments available Monday – Thursday evenings and on Saturdays for your convenience.

Time shared with people who have similar life situations and challenges is often very beneficial, and support groups are intended to provide a safe environment for expressing one’s feelings and receiving supportive feedback from others.
If you are interested in a parenting support group, please call (562) 427-7916 and give us your phone number and availability. We will call you back as soon as we have enough participants to form the group. Please share this information with anyone you know who might be interested in joining.
