Sunday, October 3, 3:30pm – Tony Kushner (in-person and online)
Topic: The Creative Process and Social Justice
Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright (Angels in America) and Academy Award-nominated screenwriter (Lincoln; Munich), Kushner will talk about the values that inform his plays and film projects.
Tuesday, October 19, 7pm – Lisa Napoli & Tonya Mosely (in-person and online)
Topic: The Future is Female: Women Shaping Public Media
Lisa Napoli, author of Susan, Linda, Nina, and Cokie: The Extraordinary Story of the Founding Mothers of NPR, has a passion for demystifying the media, both broadcast and digital. Tonya Mosley is an Emmy and Murrow award-winning radio and television journalist. She is co-host of the NPR programs Here and Now and Truth Be Told.

Topic: Food Insecurity In Our Backyard
Regional experts and advocates present an update on the severity of hunger in our communities, and what we can do about it. You will also hear from individuals whose passions and projects have made a difference and inspire us to do more.

Topic: Seeing Ourselves and Our Times in Stories
Long Beach’s native son, nominee for Golden Globe, Tony, Emmy, and Screen Actors Guild awards, Stuhlbarg is an accomplished, versatile actor on stage and in films such as The Shape of Water and Call Me By Your Name. Please note that for the February 2022 event, the date and format have not yet been finalized.
A Q&A opportunity will follow each presentation.
